Video Surgeon Not Opening (Norton 360)
Posted by James Todd (Import), Last modified by James Todd (Import) on 15 June 2012 06:23 PM
We have seen that Norton 360 sometimes flags Video Surgeon as a worm or virus and blocks or quarantines it.
Here is what you need to do to resolve this problem.

To determine if this is an issue go to your program files folder

C:\Program Files\Video Surgeon\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Video Surgeon\

In this folder look for a file named Videosurgeon.exe
If it is not there, please follow the steps below.

If this file IS present but you have problems getting Video Surgeon
to open and you have Norton 360, then jump to step 5.

1. Turnoff autoprotect (for 15 minutes)
2. Close program and then uninstall it.
3. Reinstall Video Surgeon
4. Go to Program Files Folder
5. Select Videosurgeon.exe and right click
6. Select Norton 360
7. Select Norton File Insight
8. In window toward bottom click option that
says "Trust File"  or something to this effect.

Apply as necessary.

Now go to the Video Surgeon icon and try opening the program again.

**Note:  We have contacted Norton and sent them a copy of Video Surgeon. They have reviewed it and white-listed it, so please know that Video Surgeon is safe to use
on your computer.  Over time, as Norton updates their DB this problem of flagging of Video Surgeon should disappear.
