Avira Antivirus Exclusion

 

Note:
The ProActive module, which can block some applications, is just available on 32-bit systems. If you are using a 64-bit system you should not have any kind of problems with blocked applications caused by Avira. Therefore, the following options are just valid for 32-bit systems. If you are using a 64-bit system, you can not set the necessary settings. 

Please note, that also a firewall could block specific applications. Therefore, please check as well your firewall settings.

 

1. Open the Avira Control Center

2. Click on Extras → Configuration

 

   3. Click on General→ Advanced Protection → Application filter → 

Note:
This option is just available under 32-bit systems. If you are using a 64-bit system you should not have any kind of problems with blocked applications caused by Avira. Therefore, the following options are just valid for 32-bit systems. If you are using a 64-bit system, you do not have access to the Application filter. 

Please note, that also a firewall could block specific applications. Therefore, please check also your firewall settings. 

 

 

4. Click on the button with the three dots

 

 

5. In the next window, please search for the blocked application (exe file) and click on Open

 

 

6. The window closes automatically and you will see the path incl. the filename in the text area

 

 

7. Click on the button Add (H) to add this file to the exception list above

 

 

8. Close the configuration window with OK
