Problems with Downloading from Youtube
Posted by James Todd (Import) on 26 June 2013 06:02 PM
Due to changes by YouTube we have incorporated an alternative YT Sniffer into Video Surgeon. |
The existing sniffer module continues to work correctly on all sites except for YT where it's ability
to detect and download is sporadic on some machines. If you are experiencing trouble downloading
(either detecting a link or physically downloading the link) from YouTube, feel free to download this
new version. Before installing it, please uninstall, and then use the link below to download and reinstall Version 126.96.36.199.
Once installed you use the program as you normally would with one exception. If you want to grab something
from Youtube, you must close the normal sniffer. Then use the keystrokes: "Control+Shift+S" This will
open a YouTube sniffer window. Into this sniffer you will copy and paste the URL from your browser for the
YT video of interest. Once you have pasted this URL, click Download. The system will download the file and
place it in your normal sniffer default folder (which you can set by clicking the far right (blue VS icon button)
at the top of the GUI. Once it has downloaded you will use the open button to go to that location and select
and open the video.
